Africa Day Celebrated in Georgia

Tbilisi, Georgia - UPF-Georgia and volunteers from Cote d’Ivoire organized park cleaning project in Tbilisi near the Tbilisi Sea area on May 25. It was the first time for Africans to participate in such program in Georgia, and they were grateful to have such opportunity.

Three African Ambassadors to Israel Receive UPF Award

Tel Aviv, Israel - A delegation of UPF-Israel met with the Ambassadors of three African Embassies in Tel Aviv on May 24, a day prior to Africa Day. Secretary General UPF-Israel, Mr. Jeremy Jordan, explained: "We gave them a certificates recognizing their precious work and to encourage them to help raise up their nations."

Moscow Celebrates Africa Day

First African Film Festival in Nepal

Kathmandu, Nepal – The College of Journalism and Mass Communication organized the first-ever African Film Festival in Nepal beginning May 23, running for three days and ending on the African Union's Africa Day program. The Universal Peace Federation of Nepal supported the festival along with the International Association for Women in Radio and Television, the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Honorary Consul of the Republic of South Africa.

International Celebration of Africa Day in Switzerland

Biel, Switzerland - To create synergy among people from different parts of Africa and Switzerland, the Komagata family hosted 12 people from different African countries at a March meeting to plan an event in honor of Africa Day. Each representative brought creativity and great interest in the goal of organizing a unique program.

The Division for Sustainable Development of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DSD-DESA), the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA), and the Regional Bureau for Africa of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will host the 4th annual launch/panel presentations/discussions of the African Economic Outlook (AEO) on Thursday June 17th in Conference Room 3, North Lawn Building , UN Headquarters, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
